Happy Halloween
It's Halloween, a tough time for any parent. At some point, you have to let go and allow your child to make their own choices. When Starbuck asked me for his costume, my first thought was to say: "No - you are a strong young male dog, the other dogs will laugh at you". But, I had to look beyond my own needs and let him dress as the Golden Fairy Princess he wanted to be.

Where in the world is Carmen Sandiego???
It has been over one month since my last post and I am suffering from extreme blog guilt. Why the long wait between posts? I have a multitude of excuses ranging from the petty - can't find the camera to take a picture, to the even more pathetic - suffering from borderline obsession with the new fall schedule. Instead of continuing to delay a new blogpost, I will update the entire month of September and half the month of October in less than 300 words. This wrongly suggests that the month was boring or uneventful - I assure you that this is not the case. In fact, this fall has been a crazy, crazy time of year.
1. Finding my Ommmmmm
For the entire month of September I attended an intensive yoga class. I can now touch my toes and stand on my head. I am still working towards that whole calm/meditative thing...
2. Can-napalooza 2008
This fall saw the canning of many fruits and vegetables. In the end I am left with a cupboard of jams, jellies, chutneys and preserves.
3. Royal Victoria Marathon
I ran my first official 1/2 marathon in Victoria. It was a wonderful 21 km, as in I spent the entire time wondering how the heck I am going to run an additional 21 km in a little more than a month.
4. Shades of Gray
The living room was painted a boring shade of gray. I still can't talk about it.
